I have had hogs for most of the last ten years and my first job after college was managing an 8000 head finishing farm, so I have seen swine production from many angles. We have had moderate success in the show ring and in general production. We keep a variety of sows and can meet most any need with a bit of notice. Conventionally raised pigs as well as pasture raised Non GMO finished hogs are available at times. CURRENTLY WE HAVE SEVERAL POUNDS OF USDA CERTIFIED PORK AVAILABLE, and we should have a good supply all summer and fall. Contact us for pricing and pickup options.
We offer USDA certified cuts of pork including pork chops, boston butt roasts, pork shoulders, ham, bacon, etc. All are raised on NON GMO feeds and harvested in a USDA certified plant. Prices vary from product to product and are generally competitive with grocery store prices for similar products. Email or call for more details.
We will have a limited quantity of pork halves this fall and a good selection next spring. Our pigs are pasture raised on several acres with access to hardwood forest and improved forages. They will also have full access to Non GMO feeds. Keep in mind that harvest and processing takes time and these products will require advanced notice and communication. Contact us at any time. The first of the spring finished pigs should be available in February and are pure Berkshire. The next set will be ready in late March and are all half Berkshire. Some will be Yorkshire/Berkshire, Chester White/Berkshire, Duroc/Berkshire, Red wattle/Berkshire and Hereford/Berkshire crosses. We will have a good number available and a wide range of genetics to pick from.
The gilts pictured to the left are todays sow. We currently have two Yorkshire sows, a Chester White, and a Hampshire. For the past eight or ten years I have artificially inseminated our sows to various boars in the boar studs and still do that at times depending on need. My late spring breedings will have a higher percentage of A. I. because we do produce a few show pigs each year. The fall breedings are usually natural and we will use Duroc and Hampshire boars to cover the sows at that time. A. I. allows us to readily and reasonably use a higher quality boar and produce a higher quality pig. we have a mix of purebred and commercial sows, so if you have purebred Yorkshire, Duroc or spot needs, let me know and I can arrange a mating to accommodate.
