We added two Jersey cows and a bred heifer in the late summer of 2017. The two cows calved in September and we began milking. By state law the milk and dairy products can only be sold for pet consumption and that is how we will be licensed and sell these wholesome products for the foreseeable future. Long term, these cattle will be artificially inseminated and used to grow calves that will be a cross that I am developing to produce a high quality steak and a special eating experience. The up side to that is that they will also be producing excess milk and we will have fresh butter and a rich milk that will add to the things we have to market.
